SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton wrestling team dropped a 45-3 decision to the Elizabethtown Blue Jays in a dual match on Friday night at the John Long Center in Scranton.
With the setback, the Royals are now 3-3 in dual meets on the season.
At 165 pounds, graduate student Jacob Burgette (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) battled until the final seconds, but dropped a 12-8 decision to the Blue Jays' Brian Schneider who is ranked No. 6 nationally in the weight class by The Open Mat.
Fellow graduate student Jeremiah Oakes (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) earned three points for the Royals with a 7-1 decision over Caden Droege in the 174-pound match.
Scranton is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Elizabethtown Invitational that will get underway at 9:30 a.m.
