WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Freshman Carley Noble (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) tossed a complete game shutout in game two and The University of Scranton softball team (12-12) split a doubleheader with the King's College Monarchs (11-9) on Monday evening at Betzler Field in Wilkes-Barre.

The Monarchs used an RBI fielder's choice with one out in the 11th to pick up the 7-6 walk-off victory in game one.

Hannah Farr reached on the fielder's choice to score Gabrielle Visconti who had started the inning on second base as part of the international tiebreaker rules.

Sophomore Emma Tirollo (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) was dealt the tough luck loss for the Royals as she allowed just a pair of unearned runs on five hits to go along with four walks and seven strikeouts over 7 1/3 IP of relief.

Brandi McIntosh got the win for King's after giving up an unearned run on five hits while walking one and fanning five in eight innings of work.

The Royals got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning on a solo shot from junior Sarah Stepnowski (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe), but King's immediately answered with three in the home half to take an early 3-1 lead.

A pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases for the Royals with nobody out in the top of the second and a pair of Monarch errors led to three runs and a 4-3 edge. The Monarchs then used consecutive RBI doubles in the home half to grab a 5-4 lead.

Sophomore Hannah Keane (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) got the start in the circle for the Royals and gave up three runs on five hits over 3.0 IP in a no-decision.

Maura Furst allowed five runs (two earned) on six hits to go along with a walk and two strikeouts in three plus innings for the hosts.

Scranton tied the game at five apiece in the top of the fourth when senior Alyssa Segnello (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) reached with a single, advanced to second on a fielder's choice and scored on an RBI single from junior Jessica Stadler (Monmouth Junction, N.J./South Brunswick).

The game would head to extras with things tied at five apiece and both sides scored a solo run in the eighth to keep the game going.

Both teams threatened in the 10th inning with two runners in scoring position, but things remained deadlocked at six apiece.

Stepnowski (2-4, HR, RBI, R) and freshman Emmie Feltenberger (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) who tallied two hits including a double and a run scored both recorded multi-hit games for the Royals.

Noble registered the second complete game shutout of her career and the Royals used two runs in the fifth to earn the split with the 2-0 victory.

The Allentown, N.J., native scattered seven hits while walking one and fanning one in the complete game effort.

In the afore-mentioned top of the fifth, a pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases with one away before senior Jenna Davida (Congers, N.Y./Clarkstown North) delivered the go-ahead two-run single to score Segnello and sophomore Madison DeStefano (Spring Brook Twp., Pa./North Pocono).

King's had runners at first and second with two away in the sixth, but Noble got Kara Krouse to fly to left and end the frame.
