Women's Soccer Unveils 2023 Schedule; Royals to Battle Four NCAA Tournament Teams Including Defending National Champion Johns Hopkins

The three-time defending Landmark Conference champion University of Scranton women's soccer team has unveiled the program's 2023 schedule with the regular season set to get underway on Sept. 1.

Coming off a second consecutive NCAA Sweet 16 appearance, the Royals will battle Widener to open the season as part of the Johns Hopkins tournament on Sept. 1. Two days later, Scranton will take on the defending national champion Blue Jays to wrap up the weekend.

Head coach Colleen Pivirotto's team is slated to play 17 games this fall including six home games at Weiss Field.

Following four straight on the road to open the year, the Royals will host Penn State Berks in the home opener on Sept. 13 and New Paltz on Sept. 20 in a pair of non-conference home games.

Landmark Conference play begins on Sept. 23 at Elizabethtown and Scranton then battles Misericordia in a Sweet 16 rematch on Sept. 27.

The Royals will host Catholic (Sept. 30), Wilkes (Oct. 10), Susquehanna (Oct. 21) and Moravian (Oct. 28) in Landmark home games throughout the course of the year. A Landmark title game rematch at Drew is slated for Oct. 17.

The schedule features four NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago in Johns Hopkins, Marywood, Penn State Berks and Misericordia.
