SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team (1-1) cruised to a 9-0 victory over the Marywood Pacers (0-1) in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon at the Pacer Courts in Scranton.
In doubles play, the duo of freshmen Maxwell Dombrowski (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) and senior Jason Budrys (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) rolled to an 8-0 win at the first flight, while freshmen Lucas Kotcho (Jermyn, Pa./Valley View)/Harrison Clark (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) picked up an 8-0 victory of their own at the second flight and graduate student Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y./North Salem Central)/Isaiah Dore (Plainfield, N.J./Plainfield Academy for the Arts & Advanced Studies) rolled to an 8-1 win in No. 3 doubles.
Dombrowski remained unbeaten in singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Marywood's James Cawley in No. 1 singles and Budrys swept Jack Biggs 6-0, 6-0 at the second flight. Dore added a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles and Clark notched a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of his own at No. 4 singles.
In No. 5 singles action, Prosperino recorded a 6-1, 6-2 decision against the Pacers' Fred Kloss and Kotcho swept Matthew Wygonik 6-0, 6-0 to round out singles play for Scranton.
The Royals are back in action on Friday afternoon at Swarthmore with start time slated for 5:30 p.m.
