SCRANTON, Pa. – The trio of junior Aviah Dahlgren (Honesdale, Pa./Wyoming Seminary), junior Alanna Kelly (Yonkers, N.Y./School of the Holy Child) and senior Jaclyn Papalski (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) all captured two events apiece as The University of Scranton women's swimming & diving team notched a 209-68 victory over the Susquehanna River Hawks on Saturday afternoon at the Byron Center in Scranton.
With the victory, Scranton is now 10-1 in dual meets on the season.
Dahlgren captured the 200 free with a time of 2:00.68 and the 200 back in 2:13.00, while Kelly swam to first-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.37 and the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:35.11. Papalski added victories in the 500 free in 5:28.02 and the 1,000 free in 11:14.45.
Senior Kayleigh Olszewski (Conshohocken, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) posted a first-place finish in the 200 fly in 2:20.07 and classmate Giavanna Baquerizo (Maywood, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) won the 50 free in 26:05 seconds. Fellow senior Marina Nunziato (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) won the 100 free in 56.60 seconds, while classmate Michelle Kong (Edison, N.J./John P. Stevens) took home the 100 fly with a time of 1:02.74.
The Royals' 200 medley relay team of senior Alyssa Benzija (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon), Kelly, Dahlgren and Baquerizo won the event with a time of 1:54.67 and Scranton also found victory in the 400 free relay as the quartet of Dahlgren, Benzija and freshmen Kim Gingrass (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) and Gianna Horen (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) took first place in 3:47.69.
On the diving boards, sophomore Nicole Stofko (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) took first place in the one-meter event with 194.41 points and classmate Kristie Schieck (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) won the three-meter dive with 135.00 points.
Scranton will close out the dual meet portion of the season next Saturday at Drew beginning at 1 p.m.
