TOWSON, Md. – The No. 9/15 University of Scranton women's basketball team (17-2, 10-2 Landmark) forced 32 Goucher turnovers and rolled to a 74-36 victory over the Gophers (1-18, 1-11 Landmark) in Landmark Conference action on Saturday at the Decker Sports & Recreation Center in Towson.

Saturday also marked the fourth straight game and the eighth time this season that the Lady Royals have allowed 40 points or less.

Things were tied at four apiece just over two minutes into the game when sophomore Kaci Kranson (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) hit a layup to ignite a 15-0 run and Kranson capped things off with another layup to make it a 19-4 game at the 4:25 mark of the first quarter. Scranton held a 20-10 lead after one and led 24-15 with 7:38 to go in the second when senior Maddy Ryan (Malvern, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) hit a free throw to ignite an 11-0 run. Sophomore Jenna Sloan (Central Square, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) made it a 35-15 game with a jumper and the visitors took a 39-20 lead into the locker room.

The Lady Royals scored nine of the first 11 points in the third quarter and Kranson buried a three to stretch the advantage to 48-22 at the 5:41 mark. Freshman Meghan Lamanna (New Providence, N.J./New Providence) connected on a pair of threes over the final four plus minutes of the quarter and the Lady Royals led 57-26 after three. In the fourth quarter, senior Mackenzie Steele (Susquehanna, Pa./Susquehanna) tallied six points on a perfect 3-of-3 from the field and Scranton cruised to the victory.

Kranson registered her sixth double-double of the season with a game-high 17 points and 12 rebounds and was joined in double figures by Ryan with 12 points. Four different players added six points apiece in Lamanna, Steele, senior Allie Lynch (Villanova, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) and graduate student Kyra Quigley (Drexel Hill, Pa./Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr).

Merci Turner paced the Gophers with 13 points.

Scranton shot 37.5% (30-of-80) from the floor and 21.4% (6-of-28) from three-point range, while limiting Goucher to 25.0% (15-of-60) from the field and 14.8% (4-of-27) from beyond the arc.
