  • Records: Scranton (6-3-4, 3-1-1 LC), Wilkes (3-12-1, 0-5 LC)

How it Happened

  • The Royals struck in the fifth minute of play as junior Preston Rushmore delivered a cross into the box and found senior Ciaran Corr right in front of the goal who fired the shot past the keeper into the net to put Scranton ahead 1-0.
  • Just six minutes later, the Royals extended their lead to 2-0. Sophomore Matt Capretto took a pass from Corr, maneuvered between two defenders, and flicked a shot that slipped past Wilkes' goalie, who was caught well out of the net.
  • Corr struck again for the Royals in the 19th minute. After settling the ball from a midfield pass from sophomore Alex Kozdron, he fired a shot with his left foot that deflected off a Wilkes player and into the net for the senior's second goal of the night.
  • Less than two minutes later, the Royals earned a free kick just outside the box. Kozdron ripped a perfect shot that found the back right of the net just past the outstretched arms of the keeper for the goal.
  • It took less than six minutes for the Royals to add on to their 5-0 lead in the second half. This time, Corr sent a ball downfield and Capretto raced past the Colonels' defense and flicked a shot past the goalie, extending the lead to 5-0.
  • In the 61st minute of the contest, Rushmore lofted a ball into the box that found the head of junior Logan Campbell who flicked it past the keeper and into the far-right corner of the net.
  • Senior Zach Simcsak capitalized in the 74th minute on a misplayed pass from a Colonel defender to their keeper. He got past the goalie and fired a shot with his left foot into the net, pushing the score to 7-0.
