SCRANTON, PA - The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team dropped their opening meet of Landmark Conference competition to Catholic University on Saturday afternoon, 171-123 inside of the Byron Recreational Complex.
Swimming Results
- The Royals earned the top two finishes in the men's 1000 yard freestyle in junior Jimmy O'Malley who finished in 10:16.66 and sophomore Chris Clarke in 10:21.67.
- Junior Matt Sherry earned the victory in the men's 50 yard freestyle in 22.53.
- In the men's 400 yard freestyle relay, a quartet of Royals including Sherry, senior James Cava, junior Mike Finley and graduate student Scott Majka finished in 3:19.47.
Diving Results
- In the first diving event of the season, sophomore Tim Hause earned the victory in the men's 1 meter diving with a final score of 212.50
The men's swimming & diving team continue their season on Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 AM at Misericordia University.
