Paxson, Smith Lead Men's Soccer to 1-0 Victory Against Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, PA -- The University of Scranton men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Landmark Conference opponent Lycoming College on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
  • The Warriors took to the attack early in the first half, forcing three saves out of junior goalkeeper Charlie Smith in the opening 15 minutes of play.
  • In the 28th minute, the Royals earned a free kick just outside the box. Sophomore Alex Kozdron served a perfectly weighted ball into the box that found fellow sophomore Drew Paxson who buried it into the back of the net to give Scranton a 1-0 lead. 
  • Smith made five saves in the second half to keep Lycoming off the board and propel Scranton to a 1-0 victory. 
Top Performers
  • Paxson recorded the first goal of his career at Scranton.
  • Smith made a career-high 10 saves for the Royals. 
  • Kozdron picked up his first assist of the season.
