SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton men's basketball team opened the season Friday night with a convincing 91-47 victory over Medgar Evers College in the opening game of the Hilton Scranton Invitational.

- The Royals jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the first half, paced by junior guard Jon Spatola.
- Scranton ended the half with a three-pointer scored by senior guard Cameron Khoza, giving the Royals a 22-point lead heading into the locker room.
- The Royals kept the momentum going in the second half, as they scored 16 straight and took a 55-20 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the game.
- Freshman Max Lebisky scored a fast break layup and converted the and-one play to push the Royals lead to 63-29 with 7:59 remaining.
