HOBOKEN, NJ -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team defeated Stevens Institute of Technology 73-30 in non-conference action on Monday night.

How it Happened
- Graduate student Kyra Quigley started the scoring for the Royals, driving her defender into the low post and finishing the layup.Â
- Stevens returned with an 8-0 run to take an 8-2 with 4:50 remaining in the first.Â
- Junior Kaci Kranson broke the Duck's hot streak when sophomore Katie Gorski found her on a backdoor cut to the basket, creating a wide-open layup and cutting the lead to four.Â
- With a minute left in the first quarter, sophomore Elizabeth Bennett worked her defender on the left block to bring the Royals within three, then scored from the same spot as time expired, ending the quarter with the Royals down one.Â
- In the second quarter, Quigley kicked the ball out to junior Kaeli Romanowski who found sophomore Meghan Lamanna in the corner to put the Royals ahead 15-12.
- With the game knotted at 17, Romanowski drained a three-pointer from the left wing to ignite a 14-1 Royals run.Â
- Bennett drew four defenders in the paint, then kicked to classmate Natalie Stoupakis on left wing who connected from deep three-point range with 4:11 left to play.
- Lamanna drained a mid-range jumper from right wing, then came up with a steal on the next possession that would create an open layup for Kranson, sending the Royals to the locker room ahead 31-21.
- To start the second half, Romanowski intercepted a Ducks pass and took the ball the length of the court for an open layup.
- Lamanna drove to the basket for a floater, then Romanowski found graduate student Maddie Hartnett on the inbound to increase the run to 6-0.Â
- Stevens scored its first points of the half four minutes into the third, but Quigley found Lamanna on a cut to regain momentum, and Romanowski added another make on the next possession, giving the Royals a 19-point lead.
- Junior Jenna Sloan connected for three from the right wing off a feed from Stoupakis, then Stoupakis fired a pass to Gorski down low who finished the layup with less than two minutes remaining.Â
- The Royals forced 11 turnovers in the third to take a 31-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.Â
- Kranson grabbed a loose ball under the basket and scored a layup, and Hartnett connected with Quigley on a cut to extend the lead to 59-24.Â
- Sloan drained a three from the right wing to give the Royals a 40-point lead with 6:36 left in the game, then Lamanna connected from three at top of the key to increase the cushion.Â
- Graduate student Allie Lynch scored back-to-back buckets, and the Royals defeated the DucksÂ
Top Performers
- Kranson led the way with 14 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
- Romanowski scored nine points, recorded four assists, and added four steals on the defensive end.
- Lamanna added 12 points.Â
