DAYTONA BEACH, FL -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team improved to 10-0 on the year with an 84-42 victory over Bethel University on Sunday afternoon in the first game of the Daytona Beach Shootout.

How it Happened
- Scranton jumped out to an early lead, holding a 15-2 advantage with just over four minutes remaining in the opening period.
- The Lady Royals continued to dominate defensively throughout the remainder of the opening quarter, holding Bethel to just four total points.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Bennett closed out the first period with three consecutive buckets, including a pair of three pointers as the Lady Royals led 28-4 headed into the second quarter.
- Junior Kaeli Romanowski drilled a three to open up the scoring in the second period and increase Scranton's lead to 31-4.
- The Lady Royals continued to shut down Bethel's offense in the second quarter as they allowed just 17 first half points and took a 51-17 lead into the break with a buzzer beater from Bennett to close out the half.
- Junior Kaci Kranson scored the first four points of the second half for Scranton with a layup and pair of free throws.
- The Lady Royals went a perfect 10-10 from the line in the third period and increased their lead to 70-24 with one quarter remaining.
- Scranton went on to defeat Bethel by a final score of 84-42.
