SCRANTON, Pa.
-- The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team (12-2, 7-0 Landmark) remained unbeaten in Landmark Conference play after they soundly defeated Wilkes (2-13, 0-7 Landmark) by a score of 19-1 Wednesday afternoon at Weiss Field.

The Royals took a commanding 13-1 lead into halftime thanks in part to a first quarter where they outscored the Colonels 10-0. Fourteen different players got on the scoresheet today as the team matched a season high in goals with 19, the third time it has been reached this season.

Senior Erin Reich (Rockville Centre, N.Y. / South Side) opened the scoring for the Royals with a goal just over a minute into the contest. Junior Grace Lane (Long Beach, N.Y. / Sacred Heart Academy) added another goal a minute later and then Reich struck again fifty seconds after that, quickly making it 3-0. Just two minutes later, the two combined for another goal as Lane got the assist on Reich's third goal of the game.

Scranton scored seven more times in the quarter, taking a 10-0 lead into the second. After outscoring Wilkes 3-1 in that second quarter, the Royals would take a 13-1 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Royals scored six unanswered goals while sophomore goalkeeper Eva Guerino (Hopewell, N.J. / Pennington School) posted a second half shutout. To end the fourth quarter, freshman Becca Paterson (Havertown, Pa / Haverford) scored her first and second career goals to put the final nail in the coffin as the hosts closed out their ninth straight win.

Reich led head coach Chrissy Trescavage's team with her fourth hat trick of the season, Lane and Paterson both scored twice, and junior Catherine McGlynn (Medford, N.J. / Shawnee) led the team with five draw controls while also contributing two goals herself. Junior goalkeeper Lauren Boldis (Merrick, N.Y. / Sanford H. Calhoun) made one save and was credited the win in the fifteen minutes of action she saw. Guerino made three saves in her three quarters of work.

The Royals are back in action with a Landmark Conference matchup on Saturday against Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., with the action slated to begin at 1:00 pm.
