DALLAS, PA -- The University of Scranton women's golf team earned a local quad-match victory over Misericordia, Wilkes and King's on Saturday afternoon at Huntsville Golf Club.
The Royals finished over 50 points clear of the second place team with a final score of 365 to win the quad-match. Misericordia took second at 418, Wilkes placed third at 419 and King's came in fourth at 462.
Senior
Madalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) fired off an impressive round of 82 (+10) and edged out Kylie McCance of Wilkes by one shot to earn medalist honors.Â
Freshman
Alex Schaul (Holmdel, N.J. / Holmdel) carded a 91 (+19) while sophomore
Cassandra Weir (Staten Island, N.Y. / Notre Dame Academy) finished one stroke behind at 92 (+20).Â
Sophomore
Lidia Marranca (Pittston, Pa. / Scranton Prep) and senior
AnnaMarie Palermo (Media, Pa. / Merion Mercy Academy) finished with scores of 100 and 108 respectively for Scranton.Â
The women's golf team will now prepare for the Landmark Conference Championships which will begin next Saturday at Shawnee Country Club.Â
