Men's Tennis Sweeps Elizabethtown On Senior Day, 9-0

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA -- The University of Scranton men's tennis team posted a dominant 9-0 win over Elizabethtown in Landmark Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Birchwood Racquet Club. 

With the win, the Royals improve to 4-9 on the year and 2-3 in conference play. 

Doubles
  • In No. 1 doubles action, the freshman duo of Maxwell Dombrowski (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) and Lucas Kotcho (Jermyn, Pa. / Valley View) won their match 8-4. 
  • Graduate Student Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y. / North Salem Central) and freshman Harrison Clark (Coopersburg, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) cruised to victory at No. 2 doubles with an 8-1 win. 
  • Scranton completed the doubles sweep as freshman Isaiah Dore (Plainfield, N.J. / Plainfield Academy for the Arts & Advanced Studies) and sophomore Nathan Harrison (Pennsville, N.J. / Pennsville Memorial) won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
  • Dombrowski took down Max Lawer at No. 1 singles in straight sets of 6-4, 6-4.
  • After dropping the first set in No. 2 singles, Dore bounced back against Stefo Billis to win 0-6, 6-3, 10-3. 
  • Clark secured another with for the Royals at No. 3 singles as he defeated Sam Langer 6-1, 6-1. 
  • Kotcho cruised to victory at No. 4 singles in straight sets of 6-0, 6-0. 
  • At No. 5 singles, Prosperino took down Isaac Reichenbach 6-2, 6-0.
  • Harrison closed out the perfect day for Scranton with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.
The men's tennis team returns to action on Thursday at 4:00 PM for a Landmark Conference match against Wilkes at the Royal Courts.
