Three members of The University of Scranton baseball team garnered ABCA/Rawlings All-Region honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.

Junior third baseman Jake Elston (New Milford, Conn./Canterbury School) and senior lefty reliever Jason Carpenter (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) were named as Second Team selections, while graduate student righty Daniel Johnson (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Immaculata) earned Third Team accolades.

Both Carpenter and Elston also received the All-Region recognition from D3Baseball.com as the former nabbed First Team honors and the latter notched Second Team honors.

This marks the third career All-Region selection for Johnson who previously was selected in 2021 and 2022.

Carpenter appeared in 18 games in relief for the Royals and posted a 4-1 record with a 2.14 ERA and three saves, which ranked tied for second in the Landmark Conference. The Scranton native fanned 31 batters in 33 1/3 IP and held opponents to a .181 batting average while not allowing an earned run in 12 of his 18 outings.

For Elston, the New Milford, Conn., native hit .372 in 41 games (40 starts) with nine doubles, three triples, four home runs, 39 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 45 runs scored. He led the conference with a .544 on base percentage and ranked among the leaders in batting average (fifth), triples (T-5^th) and runs scored (sixth).

Elston earned Landmark Tournament MVP honors after going 6-10 (.600) in three games with a double, home run, seven RBI and seven runs scored.

Johnson pitched in 11 games and made 10 starts as a member of the Royals' weekend rotation, going 6-1 with a 4.42 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 53.0 IP. The Whitehouse Station, N.J., native ranked sixth in the Landmark in wins, seventh in strikeouts and eighth in opponents' batting average at .240.
