READING, PA -- The University of Scranton women's soccer team defeated Penn State Berks 5-0 on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Royals move to 3-0-1 on the season.
Graduate student
Niamh Healy scored the first goal of the game for Scranton in the 26th minute of play. The Royals out shot Berks 9-1 in the opening half and held a 1-0 lead headed into the break.
Sophomore
Jenna Borelli scored the first goal of her career in the 60th minute with a low shot to the left side. Graduate student
Mary Haggerty added to the tally in the 71st minute for Scranton.
Sophomore
Faith Schechter finished off the night with a pair of goals to give the Royals a 5-0 win over Berks. Freshman
Molly Martys picked up the assist on Schechter's second goal.
Senior goalkeeper
Nicole Olson played the first 75 minutes of action before giving way to junior
Anna Donnellan who made one save in 15 minutes of play.
Scranton held a 21-2 shot advantage in the dominant victory.
The women's soccer team returns to action on Saturday against Stevens at 1:00 PM at Weiss Field.
