Kranson Drops 31 Points to Lead No. 3 Women's Hoops to 72-45 Victory Against Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, PA -- Junior Kaci Kranson scored a season-high 31 points as The University of Scranton women's basketball team defeated Susquehanna University 72-45 in Landmark Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • The Lady Royals opened up the game with a 13-3 run, including 10 points from Kranson. 
  • Scranton extended its lead to 15 points to close out the first quarter and hold a 23-8 advantage.
  • Graduate student Maddie Hartnett took over to start the second period, scoring seven straight points to grow Scranton's lead to 30-8. 
  • Sophomore Meghan Lamanna connected on a pull up jumper followed by a three-pointer late in the second quarter as the Lady Royals led 48-23 at the half.
  • Susquehanna out scored Scranton by five points in the third quarter to cut the lead to 57-37 with one period remaining. 
  • Junior Kaeli Romanowski drilled a three with six minutes remaining to put Scranton up by 22. 
  • The Lady Royals went on to win by 27 with a final score of 72-45. 
Top Performers
  • Kranson led the way with 31 points, two points shy of her career high (33), and nine boards. 
  • Lammana added 12 points and four assists.
  • Hartnett contributed nine points, while Romanowski and graduate student Kyra Quigley each scored eight.

  • Scranton had 17 steals, led by Romanowski with seven, and scored 22 points off turnovers.
  • The Lady Royals recorded 26 points in the paint while Susquehanna had eight.
