SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team defeated Elizabethtown College 82-57 in Landmark Conference action on Wednesday night at the John Long Center.

How it Happened
- Junior Kaci Kranson, who was honored before the game for reaching 1,000 career points, opened the scoring for the Lady Royals by taking her defender to the block and finishing off the glass.
- The Blue Jays took an 8-4 lead with 7 minutes left in quarter, but graduate student Maddie Hartnett drove into the paint and scored a floater to bring the Lady Royals within two points.
- Sophomore Katie Gorski scored a driving layup to tie the score at 17 a piece with just over a minute left in the first.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Bennett drained a three-pointer from the left wing with just four seconds remaining to tie the game at 21 at the end of the quarter.
- Junior Kaeli Romanowski forced a Blue Jay turnover on the opening play of the second, which sophomore Meghan Lamanna turned into a good jumper from the foul line to give the Lady Royals their first lead since the opening minutes of the first.
- Lamanna scored back-to-back driving layups to tie the game at 30 with 6:30 left in the half, the seventh tie of the game.
- The Royals went on a 10-0 to take a 38-30 lead with three minutes to play.
- Romanowski game up with back-to-back steals to generate four points, and Kranson scored a floating jump shot at the buzzer to send the Lady Royals to locker room with a 13-point lead at the half.
- Kranson drew a double-team down low and found graduate student Kyra Quigley on the opposite block as the Lady Royals increased their lead to 49-34 three minutes into the second half.
- Quigley sent a lob pass to Lamanna who pump-faked her defender and scored off the glass, and Bennett drained a three-pointer from the left wing as the Lady Royals took a 22-point lead with 4:16 left in the third quarter.
- Junior Jenna Sloan scored seven points in the third as the Lady Royals finished the quarter ahead 69-46.
- Romanowski found a wide-open Hartnett for a layup off the inbound and Quigley scored off a reverse layup as the Lady Royals kept their momentum early in the fourth.
- Bennett poked away the ball from the Blue Jays and found Gorski down court who finished the layup as the Lady Royals took a 78-55 lead with 4:14 left in the game.
- Lamanna scored a step back jumper and Kranson stole the ball from the Blue Jays to secure an 82-57 victory.
