TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's golf team turned in a strong performance on Saturday afternoon at Stone Hedge Golf Course, coming up just short in a tight matchup against Wilkes University, 388-383.
Lidia Marranca paced the Royals with a round of 87, earning second place overall and finishing behind Wilkes' Kyleen McCance, who claimed medalist honors with a 73.
Cassandra Weir followed with a solid round of 92, while Emily Davis carded a 103. Emily Murphy added a 106, and Julia Ventura completed the lineup with a 112 to round out Scranton's scoring.
Despite the narrow four-stroke loss, the Royals showed consistency across the board and continued to build momentum in the fall season.
The Royals will return to action on Monday, Oct. 20 at the Lebanon Valley Fall Invitational.
