How it Happened
- Scranton opened the game with a strong 10–2 run, highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers from Brendan Carr and Sammy Tornabene.
- A defensive play by Tornabene led to a forced turnover, resulting in an easy transition layup for Ben Robinson and prompting Goucher to call a timeout.
- Additional three-pointers from Jon Spatola and Luca Baratta extended the Royals' lead to 15 midway through the first half.
- Josias Carbon closed out the opening period with a three-pointer, sending Scranton into halftime with a 40–21 advantage
- Early in the second half, a quick drive by the Royals allowed Carbon to set up Nick Ruisi for an uncontested layup.
- Spatola made an impressive effort to keep the ball in play on a fast-break sequence, finding Ruisi for another easy finish.
- Ruisi then connected with Carbon on a cut to the basket, resulting in a powerful dunk that pushed the Royals' lead to 29.
- Goucher ended on an 11-5 run but the Royals held on for their first Landmark Conference win of the year.
