SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team defeated Susquehanna University 74-51 in Landmark Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the John Long Center.

How it Happened
- The River Hawks opened the game on a 7-0 run.
- Scranton responded with a 14-0 run, including the first Lady Royals' bucket of the game from senior Morgan Brewer.
- A three-pointer from sophomore Meghan Lamanna with 1:24 remaining in the first put Scranton up 20-9.
- Junior Kaeli Romanowski knocked down a pair of free throws to close out the opening quarter and give the Lady Royals a 22-11 lead headed into the second.
- Graduate student Maddie Hartnett drilled a three at the 8:02 mark of the second to give Scranton a 15 point cushion.
- Both teams continued to exchange buckets until Romanowski scored five straight points on a steal and layup followed by a three to put Scranton up 39-20 with just over one minute remaining in the first half.
- The Lady Royals led by 17 at the break.
- Junior Kaci Kranson connected from deep off a feed from Hartnett to open up the scoring in the third period.
- Lamanna had a strong third quarter, scoring seven points for Scranton to help increase the lead to 18 headed into the fourth period.
- Lamanna scored five straight points, including a three, early in the fourth period to put the Lady Royals up 21.Â
- At the five minute mark, Kranson and sophomore Elizabeth Bennett knocked down back-to-back threes followed by a layup from Kranson to put Scranton up 27.
- Senior Ashlyn Bender scored the final basket of the contest for Scranton as the Lady Royals went on to win by a final score of 74-51.
Top Performers
- Kranson led all scorers with 19 points for her 21st game in double-figures this season. Kranson ranks second in the conference in scoring at 17.3 PPG.
- Lamanna added 15 points and a game-high four steals.
- Romanowski scored 10 points, grabbed eight boards, and dished out seven assists.
