SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team defeated Lycoming College 85-38 in Landmark Conference action on Wednesday night at the John Long Center.

- With tonight's win, the Lady Royals have clinched the top seed in the Landmark Conference playoffs and will host a semifinal game on Thursday, Feb. 27 with the opponent and time yet to be determined.Â
How it Happened
- Scranton opened the game on a 10-0 run, including eight points from junior Kaci Kranson.
- The Warriors cut the lead to five (12-7) with 3:28 remaining in the first period.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Bennett and Katie Gorski combined for 11 points, including three three-pointers to close out the opening quarter and give the Lady Royals a 23-11 lead.Â
- Scranton scored the first eight points of the second period and went on to outscore Lycoming 18-8 to lead by 22 (41-19) at halftime.Â
- The Lady Royals held Lycoming scoreless for the first seven and a half minutes of the third period and scored 20 unanswered to take a 61-19 lead. During the run, Scranton recorded five steals.Â
- Scranton out scored the Warriors 29-6 in the third, led by Kranson with eight and graduate student Allie Lynch with seven.Â
- Freshman Marisa Francione and senior Morgan Brewer connected on back-to-back threes to start the fourth.Â
- The Lady Royals went on to win by a final score of 85-38.Â
