ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- The University of Scranton men's basketball team was defeated 78-72 by Elizabethtown College on Saturday.

- Scranton took an early 12-8 lead as freshman Sammy Tornabene scored eight points in the opening six minutes.
- Freshman Will Marion hit a jumper at the 12:08 mark to give the Royals their biggest lead of the game, 18-11.
- ETown responded with a 14-4 run to take a 25-22 lead with 6:16 remaining in the first half.Â
- The Blue Jays closed out the opening half with a nine point lead.Â
- After trailing by 11 in the early stages of the second half, the Royals charged back with a 10-3 run to cut Elizabethtown's lead to 40-36 at the 17:01 mark.Â

- Threes from Marion and graduate student Tahaj Parland kept Scranton within single digits in the middle stages of the second half.Â
- Scranton cut ETown's lead to 71-70 with 2:37 remaining after a 9-0 run that featured Marion's third three of the game.
