WASHINGTON, DC -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team went on a 14-5 run in the final three minutes to defeat Catholic University 62-53 in a Landmark Conference battle on Saturday afternoon at Franny Murray Court in Washington, DC.

How it Happened
- With the game tied at 2-2, junior Kaeli Romanowski converted a tough and-one to put the Lady Royals up three.
- Catholic responded with three consecutive buckets to take an 10-5 lead.
- Sophomore Meghan Lamanna converted an and-one in the final minute of the first period to get Scranton within two, 10-8.
- The Cardinals extended their lead to four points at the 6:37 mark of the second, but graduate student Maddie Hartnett connected from deep on the following Lady Royals' possession to close the gap to one.
- Sophomore Katie Gorski gave Scranton its first lead of the second period at the 1:37 mark as she made a layup off an assist from junior Kaci Kranson.
- Catholic scored the final four points of the first half to take a 22-20 lead into the break.
- Romanowski helped Scranton regain the lead with 6:26 remaining in the third as she scored a fast break layup off an assist from graduate student Kyra Quigley.
- Kranson drilled a three off a feed from Hartnett on the following Scranton possession to give the Lady Royals a 30-26 lead at 5:46 in the third.
- With the Lady Royals down one late in the third, sophomore Elizabeth Bennett hit back-to-back threes to give Scranton a five point advantage, 39-34.
- Catholic cut the lead to one with a 4-0 run to close out the third.
- The Cardinals tied the game up at 41-41 with a three at the 9:20 mark in the fourth period.
- Scranton answered with a 6-1 run to go up 47-42, but Catholic tied the game back up at 47 with just under four minutes remaining in the game.
- With the game tied at 49, Bennett hit a clutch three off an assist from Hartnett to put Scranton up 52-49 with just over two minutes left.
- A layup from Hartnett put the Lady Royals up five with 1:39 remaining.
- Romanowski, junior Jenna Sloan, Gorski, and Hartnett all hit threes late in the fourth to ice the game for Scranton.
