TOWSON, MD – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team soundly defeated Goucher College, 17-5, on Saturday afternoon in Towson, MD.

Sophomore Eileen Hewitt scored the Royals third goal of the game four seconds after Reich, and then graduate student Devyn Tanajewski, Hewitt, and sophomore Becca Patterson scored one goal each within a five-minute period to go ahead 7-1.

At the 4:26 mark, junior Delaney Wozniak scored her first goal of the game. Then, freshman Natalie Paul joined the scoring barrage with her first career goal at the 2:40 mark and senior Shannon DiDominica took a feed from Wozniak and scored the Royals' 10th goal of the quarter with 52 seconds left in the first.

With a 10-1 lead to begin the second, senior Molly McCarren scored a goal 12 seconds into the period, and classmate Catherine McGlynn tallied her first goal of the game at the 9:25 mark to go up 12-1.

Scranton scored three goals in the third quarter, each by a freshman for their first career goals. Amelia Price tallied her first goal at the 6:08 mark, Grace Hoeger took a pass from junior Meghan Theofield and scored her's at the 4:16 mark, and then Madeline Kaplan scored at the 1:43 mark to make it 16-2 Royals.

With just 1:01 to go in the game, Theofield connected with freshman Lourdes Zacarese who scored her first career goal, becoming the fifth different Royal to score their first career goal in the 17-5 victory.
