SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton softball team improved to 4-0 with a pair of wins in a doubleheader against William Paterson University on Sunday afternoon at Magis Field.
Game 1: Scranton - 5, William Paterson - 4
How it Happened
- Senior Kylie Rochford hit a two RBI single in the bottom of the second to score sophomores Alexa Bruno and Lainey Lacey.Â
- Sophomore Celia Totaro also scored in the second inning to put Scranton up 3-0.Â
- The Pioneers scored a pair of runs in the top of the fourth to cut the Royals' lead to one run.
- Senior Alyssa Mosconi hit a two RBI double in the bottom of the fifth that scored Rochford and Totaro to put Scranton up 5-2.
- William Paterson scored two more runs in the sixth inning to get back within one of Scranton.Â
- Junior Carley Noble came in to pitch the seventh inning for the Royals and earned the save as Scranton went on to win, 5-4.Â

- Rochford went 3-4 with 2 RBI.
- Mosconi went 2-4 with 2 RBI.
- Totaro scored a team-high two runs.Â
Game 2 (5 Innings): Scranton - 11, William Paterson - 1
- With the bases loaded in the bottom of the first, senior Hannah Keane was walked and Totaro scored to give Scranton a 1-0 lead.
- Junior Emmie Feltenberger followed with a single up the middle to score Rochford.Â
- Mosconi scored the third run of the first inning for Scranton off an RBI from freshman Hailey Poskonka.Â
- Rochford tripled to right field in the bottom of the second and scored Totaro and Bruno, giving the Royals a 5-0 lead.Â
- Two batters later Keane doubled to center and scored Rochford to put Scranton up 6-0.
- Feltenberger drove in Mosconi with a single to center and the Royals led 7-0 at the end of the second inning.
- Rochford notched another RBI in the third as she drove in Bruno with a single to right center.Â
- Keane and Feltenberger each recorded an RBI in the third as the Royals led 11-0.
- William Paterson scored its lone run of the game in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly.
- Senior Emma Tirollo came in to pitch the top of the fifth and recorded two strikeouts to help end the game by mercy rule, 11-1.Â

- Freshman pitcher Kiley Mullins earned the win and pitched the first four innings with one earned run and five strikeouts.Â
- Rochford went 3-4 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored
- Feltenberger went 3-3 with 3 RBI.Â
