MADISON, NJ -- The University of Scranton softball team lost both games of a Landmark Conference doubleheader at Drew University on Tuesday.
The Basics

Game 1: Drew - 3, Scranton 2
How it Happened
- Drew scored the opening run of the game in the second inning on an RBI single to right center.
- The Royals responded in the top of the fifth as a double from sophomore Ellyn Cervona put runners on second and third with two outs. Fellow sophomore Alexa Bruno followed up with a single to right field that scored both Cervona and classmate Lainey Lacey to put Scranton ahead, 2-1.
- The Rangers tied the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth with a sacrifice fly.
- Drew walked it off in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single to right field.
Top Performers
- Freshman Emma Douglas pitched a full game and allowed just two earned runs while recording four strikeouts.
- Bruno went 1-2 at the plate with two RBI.
Game 2: Drew - 11, Scranton - 3
How it Happened
- Drew put up three runs on three hits in the bottom of the first to take an early 3-0 lead.
- The Rangers tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the second to increase their advantage to 5-0.
- In the top of the third, senior Kylie Rochford hit an RBI single that scored Bruno and advanced sophomore Celia Totaro to third. Later in the inning, senior Alyssa Mosconi drove in both Totaro and Rochford with a two RBI single to cut Drew's lead to 5-3.
- Drew scored three runs on two hits in the bottom of the third to go ahead 8-3.
- The Rangers added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take an eight-run lead.
- The game ended by mercy rule following a scoreless inning for Scranton in the top of the fifth.

- Mosconi went 1-2 with two RBI.
- Rochford went 1-3 with one RBI and one run scored.
