WILKES BARRE, PA - The University of Scranton softball team split a doubleheader against King's College on Monday afternoon in Wilkes Barre.

How it Happened
- Senior Madison DeStefano brought home the first run of the game after drawing a bases-loaded walk in the first inning and then classmate Hannah Keane ripped a single to make it 2-0 Scranton.
- Freshman Hailey Poskonka drove in the third run of the inning with a ground out, and sophomore Ellyn Cervona singled up the middle to make it 4-0 Scranton in the first inning.
- King's scored three runs on a two-RBI single and a sacrifice fly in the third inning to cut Scranton's lead to 4-3.
- Senior Alyssa Mosconi doubled home Totaro with two outs in the top of the fourth inning to extend the Royals' lead to 5-3.
- King's scored once in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Monarchs stranded one runner on base as Scranton held on to win 5-4.
Top Performers
- Mosconi had three hits and one RBI.
- Keane went 2-4Â with one RBI.
- Freshman Kiley Mullins struck out three batters and allowed just one run in five innings in relief.
