SCRANTON, PA – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team defeated Moravian University 17-7 on Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field in Scranton.

How it Happened
- The Royals opened the scoring in the first quarter when sophomore Eileen Hewitt connected with graduate student Erin Reich, who scored to give Scranton a 1-0 lead.
- Just 1:18 later, sophomore Jillian Lopez took a pass from Hewitt and found the back of the net in a player-up scenario to extend the lead to 2-0.
- Senior Grace Lane added to the lead when she scored two goals separated by less than three minutes to make it 4-0 Scranton.
- Lane took a feed from Reich and scored her third of the quarter at the 4:18 mark, and Lopez and senior Shannon DiDominica each scored a goal assisted by the other within nine seconds of each other to make it a 7-0 game with 2:38 left in the first quarter.
- The Greyhounds got on the board with their first goal of the game with 39 seconds left in the first, and they scored again just 18 seconds into the second quarter to cut Scranton's lead to 7-2.
- Lopez scored her third goal of the game, assisted by DiDominica, at the 12:45 mark of the second quarter, and graduate student Devyn Tanajewski scored her first of the game less than three minutes later to make it 9-2 Royals.
- Senior Molly McCarren scored the 10th goal of the game at the 8:41 mark, and Tanajewski made it 11-2 Royals with a free-position goal 1:28 later.
- Hewitt scored her first goal of the day, assisted by senior Lauren Corrado, at the 5:47 mark and DiDominica followed suit less than two minutes later to extend the advantage to 14-2.
- Moravian ended the second quarter the same way it ended the first – with a last-second goal to make it 14-3.
- With 6:49 to go in the third period, senior Catherine McGlynn found the back of the net for her first goal of the game.
- Moravian scored its fourth goal of the contest at the 3:08 mark in the third period.
- DiDominica scored again at the 11:11 mark of the fourth quarter, extending the lead to 16-4, although the Greyhounds responded two minutes later to make it 16-5 Scranton.
- DiDominica tallied her fifth assist of the game when she found Lane who scored her fourth goal of the day to give Scranton a 12-goal lead at 17-5.
- Moravian scored two goals to end the game, although Scranton held on to win 17-7.
