CENTER VALLEY, PA -- The University of Scranton baseball team dropped a back-and-forth non-conference contest at DeSales University on Wednesday night, 14-10.

How It Happened
- Scranton jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when junior John Heitzman grounded out to first, scoring senior Jake Elston.
- DeSales responded immediately with six runs in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on multiple hits and a costly error to take a 6-1 lead.
- The Royals fought back in the second, plating four runs behind a bases-loaded walk from Elston and a two-RBI single from Heitzman to tie the game at 6-6 in the third.
- DeSales pulled away in the fourth with a seven-run surge on five hits and two errors.
- In the top of the fifth, freshman Joey Granko scored on a wild pitch.
- Sophomores James Nitti and Jake Lopez delivered RBI hits to close the gap to 13-9 in the seventh.
- Despite another RBI ground out in the ninth from junior Vincent Napolitano, the Royals' comeback fell short as DeSales added one more in the seventh and held on for the 14-10 win.
