SCRANTON, PA – The University of Scranton baseball team took down No. 12 Penn State Harrisburg, 4-3, in a closely contested matchup on Sunday afternoon at Volpe Field in Scranton.

How it Happened
- Penn State Harrisburg led off the game with a solo home run to take an early 1-0 lead.
- With runners on second and third and one out, junior Vincent Napolitano drove in the tying run with an RBI ground out. One batter later, sophomore Jared Cassella doubled to drive in the second run of the inning, making it 2-1 Scranton.
- Two batters after senior Jake Elston drew a one out walk in the third inning, junior John Heitzman drove him in with an RBI triple to extend the Royals' lead to 3-1.
- A two out, RBI single in the top of the fourth inning for the Lions cut the Scranton lead to 3-2.
- In the bottom of the eighth inning, Heitzman tripled with one out and then graduate student Matthew Querey executed a perfect suicide squeeze up the first base line that scored Heitzman to extend Scranton's lead to 4-2.
- The Lions loaded the bases with one out in the top of the ninth inning against junior Logan Mason and scored one run on a sacrifice-fly, but Mason induced a ground ball that sophomore James Nitti made a backhanded play and flipped to second to end the game.

- Heitzman went 3-4 with two triples, one RBI and two runs scored.
- Sophomore John DeStefano allowed just two runs over five innings with two strikeouts.
- Senior Dominic Chieffalo tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief.
