DALLAS, PA — The University of Scranton women's soccer team dropped a close battle to No. 7 Misericordia University, 3-2, on the road Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- Scranton got on the board first in the 15th minute of the game. After sophomore Molly Martys' first shot was saved and her second hit the crossbar, she scored on her third effort to put the Royals ahead 1-0.
- Misericordia evened the score with just 1:08 left in the first half and then took a 2-1 lead with its second goal of the night 1:16 into the second half.
- The Cougars scored their third goal of the night in the 73rd minute of the game to go ahead 3-1.
- Junior Libby Masterson cut the Cougars lead to one goal with her first career goal to make it 3-2 with 11:21 left in the game, but Scranton's efforts fell short against one of the best teams in the nation.
