Scranton Wrestling Defeats Bergen Community College, 45-11

SCRANTON, Pa. — The University of Scranton wrestling team earned a 45–11 non-conference victory over Bergen Community College on Saturday afternoon at the John Long Center.

Scranton jumped out to an early lead with a forfeit win at 125 pounds before recording back-to-back pins to take control of the dual. At 133, Charles Arobone pinned Jeremiah Wynn in 1:20, and Christopher Cordero followed with a fall in 2:59 at 141 to give the Royals an 18–0 advantage.

After a forfeit at 149, Bergen picked up its first points at 157, but Scranton responded with pins at 165 and 174. Kevin McCarvill pinned Michael Gim in 4:42, while Charles Kitching recorded the quickest fall of the match, sticking Alex Gossin in 54 seconds.

Quinton Laughlin added an 11–7 decision at 184, and Max Shnipes closed out the scoring with a forfeit win at heavyweight to seal the 45–11 final.

In exhibition bouts, Luke Griffin pinned Jeremiah Wynn in 2:02 at 133, and Jake Rudy earned a 24–18 decision over Michael Gim at 165.

Up next the Royals will travel to Muhlenberg College on Saturday, January 17th at 7:30 p.m.
