SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's basketball team earned an 82-67 victory over Juniata College in Landmark Conference play Saturday afternoon at the John Long Center.

The Basics

How It Happened

  • The Royals wasted no time getting on the board, as Ben Robinson and Brendan Carr each connected from beyond the arc to give Scranton an early 9–4 lead.
  • Will Marion followed with a floater in the lane, and P.J. Kellachan powered home a physical and-one putback to keep the momentum rolling.
  • A quick pass from Kellachan set up Josias Carbon for a finish that extended the advantage to 19–9, as the Royals controlled the pace of play.
  • Carbon continued to make his presence felt on the glass, using offensive rebounds and putback scoring to fuel a key run that stretched the lead to 39–24 late in the first half.
  • Marion capped the opening period with a buzzer-beating three-pointer, sending the Royals into halftime with a 42–26 cushion.
  • Scranton maintained its grip on the game in the second half behind consistent perimeter shooting from Robinson and Carr.
  • Inside, Kellachan and Tommy Nahill anchored the defense, turning away multiple shots and limiting Juniata's opportunities in the paint.
  • A momentum-shifting dunk by Carbon highlighted the Royals' energy coming out of the break.
  • An and-one finish by Marion and a deep three-pointer from Jon Spatola helped Scranton preserve its double-digit lead down the stretch.
  • The Royals closed the contest at the free-throw line to secure the 82–67 victory.
