The University of Scranton women's volleyball team dropped two games Saturday afternoon, losing to No. 13 Juniata (3-0) and Lynchburg (3-0), in Huntingdon, PA.
Game 1 vs. No. 13 Juniata
The Basics

How It Happened
First Set
- The Eagles got off to a 2-0 start, but a kill by Ava Seidenstein settled the score at 2-2, before a 3-0 Juniata run restored the lead to 8-3.
- Down 17-11, the Royals scored five of the next six points as Adria Vargas served back-to-back aces, cutting the deficit to 18-16.
- The Royals were unable to regain the lead, as Juniata took the first set, 25-20.
Second Set
- Scranton took a 5-4 lead thanks to kills from Danielle Kramer and Andie Fortmeyer.
- The Eagles scored five straight to take a 9-6 lead that held until a Kramer kills brought the Royals within one, down 17-16.
- Juniata fought off the Royals run, pushing the score to 21-16, but Scranton rallied again with three straight points, including a Gabby Konrad ace, and then three more behind a Lexi Brown ace to pull within 24-22.
- The Eagles survived the surge, taking set two 25-22.
Third Set
- Kramer scored the first point of the third, but Juniata answered with a 3-0 run to lead 4-1 and never trailed again.
- The Royals got within one at 9-8, but the Juniata attack totaled a .550 hitting percentage to secure the third set victory, 25-13.

Game 2 vs. Lynchburg

How It Happened
First Set
- Lynchburg led 3-1 early before Scranton tied it at 4-4 and took a 5-4 lead off two Lynchburg errors on Gabby Konrad's serve.
- The Hornets answered with a 5-0 run to go up 13-6, but Scranton cut the deficit to 13-8.
- Late kills from freshman Fortmeyer, Vargas, and Angela Bush and kept the Royals within reach, but Lynchburg held on to take the set, 25-20.
Second Set
- Lynchburg opened the set dominant 11-2 run.
- The Royals fought back with a 5-0 run, including back-to-back blocks from Cammi Quirk and Fortmeyer, and a service ace from Audrey Hibbard to get within four, trailing 14-10.
- Lynchburg answered with a 5-0 run to lead 19-10. Scranton cut it to 21-16, but the Hornets closed out the set, 25-17.
Third Set
- The teams were tied or separated by a point throughout the first half of the set. Natalie Kettler had three kills in the set to help Scranton take an 11-10 lead.
- Trailing 23-18, the Royals scored four straight points, including a Vargas kill, to get within one.
- Fortmeyer's serve then helped the Royals tie it at 24-24.
- The score was tied again at 25-25, 26-26 and 27-27 before Lynchburg took the last two points, ending the set 29-27.
