Scranton Wrestling Falls at Home to Misericordia, 41-3

SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton wrestling team fell to Misericordia University, 41–3, on Sunday afternoon at the John Long Center.

The Cougars seized early momentum, winning the first four bouts of the dual to build a 20–0 lead. Victories at 125, 133, 141, and 149 pounds — including two technical falls — gave Misericordia control heading into the middle weights.

Scranton broke through at 157 pounds, where Luke Burke earned a hard-fought 12–6 decision over Chase Stephen to put the Royals on the board and cut the deficit to 20–3.

Misericordia answered by claiming the final five matches of the day, highlighted by a fall at 184 pounds and a technical fall at heavyweight, to secure the 41–3 team victory.

Up Next: Scranton will travel to Ewing, N.J. for the NCAA National Qualifier – Region 3, hosted by The College of New Jersey, on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27–28.
