SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton baseball team fell to Arcadia University, 11-3, in its season opener on Saturday at Volpe Field.

How it Happened
- Arcadia broke through against Scranton starter, John DeStefano in the third inning as the Knights tallied a trio of singles in the inning to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Knights added two more runs in the fifth inning when Nick Yedman ripped a two-run home run in his first game with Arcadia to extend the lead to 3-0.
- Scranton broke through with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to trim the deficit to two. After Aidan Casey and Matthew Gannon worked back-to-back walks and executed a double steal, Conor Campbell delivered an RBI single to put the Royals on the board. Two batters later, Joey Granko lined a single to right-center to score Gannon, and Logan Mason followed with a base hit to plate Campbell for Scranton's third run of the inning.
- Arcadia broke the game open in the top of the sixth, erupting for seven runs to stretch its lead to 10–3. The Knights racked up six hits in the inning as they pulled away with a seven run lead.
- The Knights tacked on another run in the top of the ninth while keeping the Scranton offense in check, limiting the Royals to just four hits over the final four innings to hand the Royals an 11-3 Opening Day loss.
