WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The University of Scranton wrestling team dropped a 38–10 decision at Wilkes University on Thursday night in dual action.
With the loss, Scranton falls to 9-5 on the season.
The Royals earned two victories on the evening, highlighted by strong performances from Charles Kitching and Max Shnipes.
Kitching put Scranton on the scoreboard at 174 pounds, turning in a dominant effort to claim a 14–1 major decision over Omari Watson.
At heavyweight, Shnipes capped the night with an emphatic win, pinning Trevor Gitski just 45 seconds into the first period to secure Scranton's second victory of the dual.
Scranton battled throughout the lineup, with several tightly contested bouts against the Colonels. At 165 pounds, Kevin McCarvill pushed Colton Thorpe to the limit before falling by a narrow 5–3 decision, while Shkeb Nadir dropped a 4–1 decision at 149 pounds.
The Royals will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 8 for the U of S Duals hosted at the John Long Center at 12:00 p.m.
