How It Happened
  • The Royals set the tone early by attacking the paint, with Meghan Lamanna and Katie Gorski leading the way as they opened on a 6-0 run and never looked back.
  • Gorski ignited the first-quarter surge with a fast-break layup, while Elizabeth Bennett added a deep step-back three and an offensive rebound putback to extend the lead to 19-6 following a late three-pointer from Kaci Kranson.
  • Defense turned into offense in the second quarter, as steals by Sophia Talutto and Kaeli Romanowski led to transition baskets from Kranson and Lamanna, pushing the advantage to 29-9.
  • The Royals closed the half with balanced scoring from Lamanna, Bennett, and Kranson to take a commanding 42-19 lead into halftime. Romanowski anchored the effort, recording four steals and seven rebounds in the first half.
  • The Royals opened the third quarter with a well-designed inbound play that resulted in a Romanowski corner three, sparking a dominant run and extending the lead to 45-19.
  • Lamanna took control offensively with strong finishes at the rim and a three-pointer spanning the third and fourth quarters to keep the Lady Royals rolling. The New Providence, N.J., native led the team with a career-high 25 points.
  • Bennett made her presence felt on both ends of the floor, scoring on layups, floaters, and a deep three while also delivering a key blocked shot in the fourth quarter.
