DAVENPORT, Fl. -- The University of Scranton baseball team opened its Spring Break trip with a double header sweep against the Farmingdale Rams, improving to 7-3 on the season.

How it Happened
- Farmingdale State scored three runs in the first inning on three hits to take an early 3-0 lead.
- The Royals answered in the bottom of the first with three runs of their own to tie the game. Jared Casella scored on a passed ball, Joey Granko singled home Conor Campbell, and Matthew Gannon crossed the plate on an error to make it 3-3.
- The Rams regained the lead in the top of the fourth, scoring two runs with two outs on an RBI single and an RBI double to go ahead 5-3.
- Scranton pulled one back in the bottom half of the inning, as Aidan Casey brought home Hunter Petrich on a sacrifice fly.
- The Royals took the lead in the fifth inning. Singles by Campbell and Heitzman opened the frame, and a walk to Matthew Gannon loaded the bases. Granko then singled up the middle to score two runs and give the Royals a 6-5 advantage.
- Ryan Boyd sealed the victory for Scranton with a six-out save, striking out two and allowing just one hit.

How it Happened
- The Royals erupted for nine runs on six hits in the second inning against Rams starter Derek Torres, setting the tone as they pursued the doubleheader sweep.
- After an RBI groundout by Roman Valvano brought home the first run, Jack Portman, who had doubled earlier, scored on a wild pitch for the second. Three batters later, Brayden Keller singled home James Nitti to make it 3-0. One batter later, John Heitzman lined a two-run double to extend the lead to 5-0. The Royals capped the inning with a three-run home run by Portman.
- Scranton added four more runs in the top of the fourth. A throwing error allowed two runs to score, and productive outs from Nitti and Thomas Lacoe drove in two more to push the lead to 13-0.
- The Rams broke through in the bottom of the fourth with two runs to trim the deficit to 13-2.
- Farmingdale State added one more run in the bottom of the sixth, but Scranton closed out a 13-3 victory in seven innings.
