CORTLAND, NY -- The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup to No. 14 SUNY Cortland, 17-5, on Saturday afternoon at Grady Field.

How it Happened
- Cortland opened the scoring with 11:41 remaining in the first quarter and added another goal less than a minute later to take a 2-0 lead.
- Scranton responded at the 10:02 mark when Jason Kozak scored an unassisted goal to put the Royals on the board.
- After Cortland pushed the lead to 3-1, Quinn Carson found the back of the net with 3:07 remaining in the opening quarter to pull Scranton within one.
- The Red Dragons answered quickly with a goal at the 2:20 mark, but Scranton struck again in the final minute when Kozak finished a pass from Kyle Holmes with 37 seconds left in the quarter to cut the deficit to 4-3 heading into the second.
- Cortland controlled the second quarter, scoring six goals in the period, including two in the final 37 seconds of the half, to take a 10-3 lead into halftime.
- The Red Dragons continued their run early in the third quarter, scoring three goals in the opening minutes to extend the advantage to 13-3.
- Scranton snapped the run with 3:49 left in the third when Holmes scored an unassisted goal to make it 14-4 heading into the fourth quarter.
- Andrew Danowski added another goal for the Royals at the 10:16 mark of the fourth quarter, but Cortland answered with three goals over the final eight minutes to secure the 17-5 victory.
