SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Ithaca College on Saturday afternoon at Magis Field.
Game One
- Ithaca – 2; Scranton – 0

How it Happened
- Ithaca took the lead in the top of the second inning, scoring the game's first run on a pair of doubles to go ahead 1-0.
- The Bombers added another run in the top of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 2–0. A two-out walk proved costly, as the next batter doubled to drive her in from first to score Ithaca's second run of the game.
- Emma Douglas pitched well, tossing six innings and allowing just two runs with six strikeouts, but the Royals were only able to muster up two hits as they were shutout, 2-0, in their season opener.

How it Happened
- Ithaca jumped in front in the first inning on a sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Bombers added two more runs in the fourth on an RBI single and an RBI double to extend their lead to 3-0.
- In the fifth, Ithaca scored three more runs to push its advantage to 6-0, and added another run in the sixth.
- Scranton got on the board in the sixth inning with a pair of runs to cut the deficit to 7-2. After Celia Totaro and Feltenberger drew walks and Gabriella Gorzkowski moved them into scoring position, an error allowed both runners to score the Royals' first runs of the day.
- Ithaca added two more runs in the seventh inning on three hits to extend the lead to 9-2. Scranton went down in order in the bottom of the seventh, and the score held as the final.
