The University of Scranton baseball team dropped its final game of the season series against Wilkes University, 11-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Volpe Field.

The Basics 

• Final Score F/7: Wilkes – 11, Scranton – 0 
• Records: Wilkes (22-12, 17-3 Landmark); Scranton (23-13, 12-8 Landmark) 
• Win: Ethan Grodack (3-1), Loss: Mason Fischer (3-4) 
• Despite the loss, the Royals took two of the three games of the series against the Colonels.  

• Wilkes opened the scoring in the top of the second inning, plating two runs on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single to take a 2-0 lead.
• The Colonels broke the game open in the fourth, scoring four runs on five hits. A pair of RBI singles and a double highlighted the frame as Wilkes extended its advantage to 6-0.
• Wilkes added two more runs in the sixth on a solo home run and an RBI groundout to make it 8-0.
• The Colonels tacked on three runs in the seventh to stretch the lead to 11-0. Scranton was unable to answer in the bottom half of the inning as the Royals were shut out in the series finale.

• The Royals return to action on Friday against Susquehanna University. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Volpe Field.
