The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team saw its season conclude on Sunday afternoon with a 13-11 loss to host Rowan University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament in Glassboro, New Jersey.
Despite the result, Scranton finished another strong season with a 16-5 record, capturing its fourth straight Landmark Conference Championship and advancing to the NCAA Second Round for the third straight season.

How It Happened
- Jillian Lopez put Scranton on the board first, finding the back of the net 2:21 into the game. Eileen Hewitt followed 1:19 later, taking a feed from Colleen Mullin and scoring to extend the lead to 2-0.
- Rowan's Fiona Lockhard got the Profs on the board at the 8:16 mark to pull them within one, but Lopez capped off the frame with her second goal of the game to send the contest into the second quarter with the Royals leading 3-1.
- Rowan scored the first two goals of the second quarter, the first just 58 seconds in and the second 1:32 later, to even the score at three apiece.
- With 10:06 remaining in the stanza, Hewitt connected with Lopez, who scored her third goal of the half to put Scranton back in front, 4-3.
- The Profs evened the score with 35 seconds left before halftime and then took their first lead of the day on a goal with just nine seconds remaining, carrying a 5-4 advantage into the break.
- Hewitt connected with Lopez again for the first goal of the second half, as Scranton tied the game at 5-5 on Lopez's fourth goal of the afternoon.
- Elaina Corson found the back of the net at the 11:28 mark, but Lopez answered just 1:04 later with her fifth goal to even the score at 6-6.
- Rowan went back in front with 9:30 left in the third period, but once again Lopez responded for the Royals, taking another pass from Hewitt and scoring her sixth goal of the game.
- Yasmin Harris scored at the 8:43 mark to give the Profs another lead, but Scranton answered with three straight goals to close out the frame. Lylah Wilhelm netted her first of the game with 1:38 remaining, and Jessica McCabe followed with back-to-back goals, both assisted by Colleen Mullin, 38 seconds apart to give the Royals a 10-8 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
- McCabe opened the fourth quarter with her third goal of the game, pushing Scranton's lead to 11-8 with 11:49 remaining.
- Rowan, however, closed the game on a five-goal run. Corson scored at the 10:25 mark to pull the Profs within two, and Madison Rothwein followed with three straight goals. Her second tied the game at the 7:15 mark, and her third gave Rowan a 12-11 lead with 3:50 remaining. Corson added an insurance goal with 1:26 left as Rowan secured the 13-11 victory.
