The University of Scranton women's volleyball team defeated Hartwick College 3-0 in game one of the Electric City Invitational Friday night at the John Long Center.

How It Happened
First Set
- The Royals were out to a fast 3-0 start, as the freshman duo of Andie Fortmeyer and Angela Bush, alongside Junior Danielle Kramer, recorded kills.
- Scranton led by four points halfway through the set, but the Hawks stormed back to take a 16-13 lead.
- After a timeout, the Royals tied the set off back-to-back kills from Fortmeyer.
- Knotted at 20 apiece, Scranton scored the last five straight to win the first set, 25-20.
Second Set
- Senior Gabby Conrad opened the second set with a service ace, as the Royals jumped out to another 3-0 lead.
- Scranton continued to carry the momentum, scoring four straight to take a 16-7 lead.
- Freshman Hailey Hennessey delivered an electrifying kill, and forced Hawk errors allowed the Royals to cruise to a second-set win, 25-15.
Third Set
- Fortmeyer scored two kills, Bush added one of her own, and Sophomore Adria Vargas served an ace as the Royals started the third up 4-1.
- A five-point Royal run, which included two kills from Bush, gave Scranton a 21-13 advantage.
- The Hawks fought at match point, but two kills from Freshman Jenna McDevitt, a service ace from Freshman Stevie Rasmussen, and a dagger from Senior Cammi Quirk lifted the Royals to a 25-17 third-set victory.
