The University of Scranton women's basketball team enters the 2026-27 season with a promising group of newcomers, as the Lady Royals look to build on a core that helped lead the program to a National Championship Game appearance last season. The incoming class features a mix of scoring, versatility, size and defensive toughness, with each player bringing a unique skill set to the roster.
New Providence, N.J. / New Providence HS
Conover is a versatile combo guard who brings a high basketball IQ, tremendous motor and natural playmaking ability. She is a tough, physical competitor who can attack the basket, knock down shots, rebound at a high level and pressure the ball defensively. At New Providence, Conover helped lead her team to four straight conference championships and finished her high school career with 1,700 points while earning Union County Player of the Year honors in 2025 and 2026.
Maura Gilroy, Forward, 6'2", Freshman
Havertown, Pa. / Haverford HS
Gilroy brings size, physicality and energy to the frontcourt, with strong footwork and the ability to score confidently around the basket. She also has a reliable 15-foot jumper and uses her physicality to make an impact on the glass and on the defensive end. Gilroy was named Team MVP and earned All-Central League First Team and All-Delco Third Team honors at Haverford in 2025-26.
Megan Logan, Guard, 5'11", Freshman
Westfield, N.J. / Westfield HS
Logan brings versatility and length to the backcourt, with the ability to play both inside and outside. She is at her best attacking the rim, getting downhill off closeouts and using her strength and athleticism to create scoring opportunities, while also showing a strong feel for cutting and moving without the ball. Logan earned Second Team All-Group 4 and All-Union County Conference honors at Westfield in 2025-26.
Aston, Pa / Archmere Academy
Malloy is a versatile scorer with a strong pull-up jumper and an impressive mid-range game, while also possessing the size and strength to score in the post. She moves well without the ball and consistently finds ways to create space and put pressure on the defense. Malloy was named the 2026 Diamond State Conference Player of the Year and finished her Archmere career with 1,111 points and 672 rebounds.
