How It Happened
- Scranton wasted no time getting on the board, as James Mayo opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the contest off a long throw-in from Drew Paxson, flicking the ball on at the edge of the six-yard box and into the far corner to give the Royals an early 1-0 lead.
- The lead held through halftime before Scranton struck again in the 57th minute, this time off a well-worked set piece. Nick Suraci served a free kick from just inside the midfield line, Luke Roberto flicked it into the 18-yard box, and Dylan Wassenbergh turned onto it on the half-turn, ripping a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner to make it 2-0.
- Alex Kozdron put the finishing touch on the win in the 82nd minute, drilling a perfectly placed free kick past the wall and into the back of the net to cap the scoring at 3-0.
