Biography

Bio:  Three-year letterman...will serve asteam captain for the upcoming 2011 season with fellow seniors JeffManahan and Chris Velazquez...has started 94 of 95 careergames...has hit safely in 77 games...holds a career batting averageof .409, a slugging percentage of .501, and on-base percentage of.469...one of only four baseball players in Scranton history toearn Academic all-America honors (former teammate Justin Champagneis one of the other three), earning third-team honors in 2009 andfirst-team this past season...two-time first-team all-LandmarkConference selection (2009, 2010)...tremendous lead-off hitter whobunts well and has a good eye at the plate...has reached base in 91of 95 games...can influence the outcome of a game with his abilityto get on base and get into scoring position-is 63 of 67 in stolenbases (94.0 percent) and has scored 119 run in his career...coversa lot of ground defensively...has made only two errors in 155chances defensively for a career fielding percentage of .987...twinbrother of Royal junior infielder Mike Stallone and younger brotherof former Scranton two-sport  standout Dan Stallone (icehockey, men's lacrosse).

Junior Year (2010):  Started 22games...earned first-team all-Landmark Conference honors for thesecond straight year after hitting .475, with seven doubles, atriple and 18 RBI, despite missing 18 games after suffering aninjury against Wilkes University on March 24 at Connell Park...wasalso voted first-team Academic all-American by the College SportsInformation Directors of America (CoSIDA) in a program sponsored byESPN The Magazine...hit safely in 18 games and had 12 multi-hitgames, including 10 hits (5 in each game) and six RBI in adoubleheader sweep of Minnesota-Morris on March 16 in Ft. Myers,Florida...despite missing 18 games, still finished third on theteam in runs scored with 32...was 17-for-17 in stolen baseattempts...reached base in 21 of 22 games...batted .571 (28-for-49)during a season-long 12-game hitting streak from March 13 to March21...scored at least one run in 17 games and two-or-more runs ninetimes...struck out only six times...finished with an on-basepercentage of .542 and a slugging percentage of .587

Sophomore Year (2009):  Led Royals inbatting average (.436), hits (65), runs scored (59), total bases(78), at-bats (149), total plate appearances (172), and tiedCharles Comprelli for most games played and started (37)...wasnamed first-team all-Landmark Conference and was voted third-teamAcademic all-Amerocan by the College Sports Information Directorsof America (CoSIDA) in a program sponsored by ESPN TheMagazine...hit safely in his first 28 games of the season and hadat least one hit in 32 of 37 games...had 22 multi-hit games,including a 5-hit effort in a 19-16 loss to Wilkes University onMarch 25 at Connell Park...established three Royal single-seasonrecords:  most hits (65), most runs scored (59) and moststolen bases (34)...his .443 batting average is the third highestsingle-season total in Scranton history...his nine doubles is tiedfor 13th on the Royals' single-season list...finished first in runsscored (59), tied for first in hits (65), second in battingaverage, and sixth in on-base percentage in the final LandmarkConference statistical rankings...did not make an error in 60chances defensively.

Freshman Year (2008):  Started 35 of 36games...solidified the top of the lineup with his ability to get onbase:  hit .336, had a .422 slugging percentage, and anon-base percentage of .392...hit safely in 27 games and had 13multi-hit games...batted .366 (16-for-45) during a 12-game hittingstreak to open the season...also hit .522 (11-for-21), including adouble, triple, home run, and nine RBI during a six-game hittingstreak from April 20 to April 27...batted .500 (6-for-12) in fourgames during the Landmark Conference tournament, including threehits and an RBI in a 16-7 loss to Catholic University in thechampionship game...his team-leading 12 stolen bases is tied forsixth-place on the Royals' single-season list; also finished in thetop 15 in two other Scranton single-season lists:  runs scored(28, 13th) and hits (43, tied for seventh)...drove in at least onerun in 15 games, including a season-high five in a 9-4 victory overthe United States Merchant Marine Academy on April 27...reachedbase in his first 17 games and in 30 games overall...scored atleast one run in 22 games...made only one error in 65 chancesdefensively to finish with a .985 fielding percentage.
