Biography

Four-year letterman...has started 25 of 106 career games...averaged 1.8 points, 0.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.4 steals per game for his career...member of three Landmark Conference championship (2009, 2011, 2012) and three NCAA tournament teams (2009, 2011, 2012), including Elite Eight appearance in 2012...played a significant role as a key reserve at the point-guard position over the past four seasons.

Senior Year (2011-2012):  One of five players on the roster to appear in all 31 games...averaged 2.2 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 16 minutes of action per game...saw action in all four NCAA tournament games and played at least 13 minutes in three of those games...scored a season-high 12 points in a 92-62 win over Maritime College in the opening round of the Radisson Invitational at the Long Center on November 18...also handed out a career-high six assists in the win over Maritime...had more assists than turnovers in 12 games...made a career-high four steals in a 76-75 loss to Drew University on February 11 in Madison, New Jersey.

Junior Year (2010-2011):  Appeared in all 26 games and started four times...averaged 2.2 points, 0.9 rebounds and 1.4 assist in 14.5 minutes of action per game...accepted his role well moving to the bench after starting the first four games of the season...opened the season with a career-high 13-point performance in an 81-53 victory over Arcadia University in the first round of the Radisson Invitational at the Long Center on November 19...in that game, connected on all six of his field goal attempts...had more assists (37) than turnovers (27)...played 10-or-more minutes in 24 of 26 games...had seven points and three assists in 13 minutes of action in an 81-64 victory over Susquehanna on January 15 at the Long Center...had more assists than turnovers in 12 games.

Sophomore Year (2009-2010):  Played in all 27 games and started 21 times...Scored a career-high 8 points (on 3 of 5 shooting, including 2 of 2 from 3-point range) in a 75-70 victory over Catholic University in the semifinals of the Landmark Conference tournament on February 24 at the Long Center...recorded a career-high five assists in an 86-65 win over Penn College of Technology  in the third-place game of the PNC Bank Holiday Classic at the Long Center on January 3...pulled down three rebounds in a 79-63 victory over Moravian College on December 5 at the Long Center...scored five points and dished out  five assists in an 87-76 victory over Susquehanna University  on February 12 at the Long Center...started 21 of the final 22 games of the season...played 20-or-more minutes 13 times...

Freshman Year (2008-2009):  Saw action in 22 games as a key reserve in the backcourt...in nearly eight minutes of action per game, averaged 0.6 points, 0.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 0.2 steals...scored a season-high five points in a season-high 23 minutes of action in a 70-53 win at Penn State-Hazleton on January 14...handed out 14 assists, including a season-high of four in a 69-44 victory over Juniata at the Long Center on January 10...played 10-or-more minutes nine times.

High School: Served as team captain his senior year...averaged eight points, five assists, two steals and two rebounds per game as Episcopal Academy finished the 2007-2008 season with a 14-13 record, including the championships of Garnet Valley and Philadelphia Coaches' tournaments, under head coach Dan Dougherty...recipient of the Daniel J. Dougherty Leadership and Markward Senior awards, Hilferty was also named all-Inter-AC and to the Philadelphia Daily News "Best Guards in Philly" listing.
